About

M. Zakir Hossain Khan is an unstoppable thought leader of the planet in natural rights protection, sustainable finance, and earth-centric prosperity that is people-focused. He is frontline actor in the global fight for nature and climate justice, integrity and governance As the key advocate of Transformative Natural Rights-Led Governance (NRLG), he takes the state of the art research and connects it to the actual world, making a new generation interested in nature as a rights-bearing companion in our new life.

M. Zakir Hossain Khan’s development of Natural Rights-Led Governance provides the "missing moral architecture" that transitions the global community from a treaty of intent to a governance system of obligation. The dictionary of terms, from the Development-Destruction Trap to the Earth Solidarity Fund, illustrates a comprehensive paradigm shift where nature is no longer a resource to be managed but a sovereign entity to be protected. For nations like Bangladesh, the adoption of NRLG is not merely a policy option but a necessity for survival in an era of climate uncertainty. The institutionalization of these rights, financed through regenerative economic instruments and guarded by community custodians, offers the only viable path to planetary justice and inclusive Earth governance. As Khan asserts, "Where Paris stops at temperature, NRLG begins with truth". The deadline for this truth is now.

Mr. Zakir also Co-Founded Change Initiative a global think tank focused on youth-driven innovation, ecological justice, and transformative governance and is also the Editor-in-Chief of Nature Insights, a platform amplifying big ideas, bold voices, and frontline stories that shape the relationship between humans and the planet.

Mr. Khan is now the Director of the Nature & Integrity in the Institute of Strategy and Tactics Research (ISTR) and is a leader of innovative research on financial governance of climate risks, environmental integrity, community-based resilience, and equitable energy transitions. His leadership has transformed the way that governments, international bodies, and communities perceive nature, rights, accountability and sustainable prosperity.

Being a highly experienced specialist who has worked over twenty years, Zakir has been partnering with international organizations such as SOAS University of London, the UNDP, Asia Foundation, Transparency International, the ADB, EWMI, South Centre and many others. His writing is wide and illicit money flow, energy pricing reform, climate resilient development, nature-based solutions, sustainable finance and anti-corruption innovations where he always breaks new grounds.

The impact of Mr. Khan is not limited to Bangladesh, but also to the other parts of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East where he has influenced policy reforms, institutional accountability and promoted the rights of nature as the keystone to long-term peace and prosperity. His models, especially NRLG, are becoming widely accepted frameworks by nations that want to have a model of governance that safeguards life, dignity, and intergenerational justice.

He is an Independent Observer in the Climate Investment Fund (CIF) where he promotes the global appeal of equitable, transparent, and free climate finance, particularly to those most exposed to climate destruction. The use of his strategic voice is critical in confronting the sources of power and propelling the world order to fairness and responsibility.

The difference with Mr. Zakir is that not only does he have mastery of the technical aspect of it, but he also has a vision that propels him. His writing is a mixture of ethical leadership, strategic intelligence, and unintimidated advocacy to deal with the toughest problems of the world. He talks to young people in a straightforward and sincere way because he protests that climate justice is not a policy need but an intergenerational quest.

Today, Mr. Khan is one of the most progressive speakers on nature and climate governance as well as sustainable integrity. He is creating a world in which all individuals are custodians, all systems are granted rights, and any choice is judged by its effect on the generations to come.
